Lets talk about K-pop

Heeey, I wanna talk little about k-pop and how it has affected my style and other things!

So lets start with the fact that, yes, I like k-pop. These days I listen to it more than I used to, but it has been several years that I have been familiar with it. I think it all started when I was about 13-14. Back then I mostly listened to japanese alterantive/rock music (Radwimps, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, UverWorld, BACK-ON) and western bands as well (Billy Talent, 30 Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park). Back then I think the whole k-pop thing started when my boyfriend of that time and his friends had this huge thing with Girls Generation's Gee.

Seriously, it was this big more or less of a joke, and we all knew the dance and danced it at school. Then I started doing some digging up and and found scattered songs here and there by various artists that I started to listen. At that time the only band that influenced my music taste the most was Epik High, because it was the closest to my music taste that time.

Some time before Psy landed on the markets, I again started to explore my old music libraries and youtube and k-pop has steadily been part of my life ever since. Sometimes I just browse trough youtube listening to not so well known artists, but I mainly listen to Big Bang and 2ne1, 'cause if it comes to fashion icons T.O.P, GD and CL are seriously my idols.

GD has such amazing style and his music videos give me a lot of inspiration. My style has become more and more influenced by his musicvideos. Most of the time when I'm looking trough K-pop musicvideos I'm just making notes of clothes I plan to do or buy.

Aaaaah it's so hard to write about this stuff, cause I have so much what I want to say but I cant put it into words. Welp, I'll make more thorough post about GD maybe?

Helsinki + Exiting news!

So the Helsinki trip came and went, it wasn't the best trip we've had but it was fun! We met a lot of new cool people and went to the Annyeong party, where were never ever going again. It was just 13-15 year olds screaming every 5 minutes and dancing gangnam style. But we laughed, danced and drank alot so in the end it was a nice experience~

We spent surprisingly big amount of time at the train station, and Tero was planning to move to one of those luggage storage lockers.

I bought p cool shoes from dinsko for 13 euros, I had a bet with Tuomas that I could find a pair of shoes for myself in 5 minutes. It only took me 4 to find these :  )

Okay, so in other news, I got in to a school in Lahti to study photography for a year! School starts on 26th an I'm moving to Lahti couple days before that so its going to be hectic. I have only one week to sell some unnecesary stuff away and get everything packed and ready! I am extremely exited to get to study what I love, and to move to live on my on again.

So because I'm sellin alot of stuff atm, I've gotten a bit more pocket money to spend. Yesterday I bought one new pair of glasses, fake lashes and glue and a pair of winter leggings. I'm still waiting for one payment so I could buy a new backpack. And I also would want new circle lenses and a wig, my pink one is in a bad shape atm : ( I'm soon leaving to go have dinner with relatives, and for the first time I put my blonde/pink wig on, and I have forgotten how much I like this one~

My face is looking so dumb today i cant Tommi out.

Today I felt like making a new skirt for myself, so after I woke up I went to buy some fabrics and found pretty neat ones on sale~ I've been making skirts all summer, but I have no good shirts to wear with them, I haven't found any nice ones.

 

I used the purple one for the skirt and from the other one (pastel pink with glitter) I am going to make a tunic of some sort.

The skirt is almost done, I also made 2 bows of the same fabric .

I will soon start to make the tunic, but I still need to decide on the details, what kind of lace I will use with it : 3  And I got really exited when my mom came and gave me a Star Wars book written in William Shakespears style. She was visiting my my step-father last week who wanted me to have this book I have no idea where he found this!! I am a big fan of both Star Wars movies and Shakespears poetry, and just combining those two is like the best thing I can imagine!

 

 The cover is so motherfucking sweet. I'll take this with me to Helsinki tomorrow, something to read in the train.

So tomorrow it's off to Helsinki, and Annyeong party on saturday!

Sleep means no victory

I'm still awake, haven't slept at all. I figured at 6 am that now that I'm still up I'll just pull an allnighter so I'll be able to correct my sleeping habits by going to sleep earlier tomorrow :< For the past week I've been up till 6-7 am and slept till 4-6 pm, and Im not happy with that at all. It results in a lot of unnecessary problems so I'm starting to be completely done with that.

 I've been enjoying my netfilx account this evening/night/morning but just few minutes ago my xbox gold membership expired. I dont get why I need to pay for the xbox gold membership SO I WOULD BE ABLE TO USE NETFILX TROUGH XBOX aint nobody got money for that! I visited the store at 6 am to get some food and then I did some cosplay experimenting just to figure out that for a character I have all the needed stuff my face is too babyface. But the only thing out of that cosplay that I don't have need to atm is the wig and you can never have too many wigs.

Do notice the huge bags under my eyes and the fact that I have no strenght to close my mouth, but I'm going to stay fucking awake.

About hair

For me hair is more important than life. I usually keep my hair in good shape, but for a month or two it has been this weird mix of white, slight blue and mad brown root growth. For most of the spring I had different shades of pink and after that half blue, half pink (which I loved but it was a pain to maintain). I decided today to save money and instead of buying hairdye to blonde the root growth I hid it by dying my hair pink again. And I was surprised how much I actually missed it!

These days I mostly use wigs, but before I had those I had pink hair extensions so now I can use those as well.

The wig I mostly use is this long pastel pink, I also have one pink/blonde which I should trim a bit before I can use it.

And heres the new old hair, freshly dyed :) 

So it's 3 am, my sleeping habits are really screwed up at the moment, so Im just watching Attack the Block (highly reccommend yo) till I fall asleep.

I made a blog this is amazing. I shoud maybe introduce myself a bit first I quess??

I am known as Tommi. I am 18 years old, born 1994 in Northern Savonia, which says nothing to even those who life in Finland.
 I lived my whole childhood in a town called Lappeenranta. After graduating high school this spring I had no place to live or study, not to mention a job. So at the moment I'm living with my mother and little brother, but I am hopefully leaving in a month to study photography at a community college. So yey fingers crossed!

I've been photoraphing for about 4-5 years and making cosplays for 2 years. I mostly blog about my cosplays to my tumblr and I really hope that having a blog would force me to take more pictures!

This summer has been quite uneventful for me. I've only been to 2 conventions and because of little money trouble I havent visited my friends at all, but they have on the other hand visited my place. I dont have ANY friends here at Kuopio, but that doesnt matter cause I aint staying here!

 Next week Im seeing my two good friends, Tuomas and Tero at Helsinki. We will spend the weekend there, attending Annyeong-party on Saturday. We all like Korean pop in our own amounts, so we decided to go together. But ye I'm going to tell about that next week and whoo show off my outfits of the weekend. The next post I'm gonna make is just to show what my style even is and show you cool stuff I find interesting : 3
